It has been a very long time since I have ever received an ARC of a graphic novel! I used to receive them at old NYCC but now they’re very few and far between!
This is a great middle school book about what it is like going on to the next grade and not being in any of your friends classes. Being lonely is never fun but Dany discovers a way to fix that and it’s not how you would think. The author, Kristen Gudsnuk, also wrote the comic Henchgirl, which I have signed somewhere.
Now before you get too interested in getting the Arc before the official one comes out, the pages were only in color up to page 16. Now I hope the actual book is all in color because it really looked great in the color! It felt so real as compared to the white, unfinished pages.
This book got extremely real with the characters it was a little crazy! The story felt a little all over the place near the end. There was a little too much back and forth in the big fight that you kinda wished it would just wrap up already. But other than that, I thought it was a really great book!Really hope they change it up in the final editing processes. But altogether it’s a great middle school book that I’m going to recommend to all my tweeny kids!
