[BOOK REVIEW] Harry Potter and The Cursed Child

This amazing book took my a 2.5 hour flight to read. It is written in script format so it is heavily dialogue. Even though it is indeed a quick read, it really does satisfy all your Harry Potter needs for a sequel. I’m also super intrigued to see how the actual play compares with the acting. One day I will get tickets to see this masterpiece.

This book really is Harry Potter book 8. With Harry as being the third main character and his son as being one of the main characters. The travels of our original trio and more continues on! There is so much that happens in this book, from time travel to Voldemort’s possible return. Secrets and answers we never knew before!

I feel like I’m not able to fully review this book because I really don’t want to spoil too much of this book for those who are choosing to wait to see the play! It is a great book and I loved the way the characters were written. The truths that were uncovered were quite satisfying and I really loved this little blurb of a book. It is reminiscent of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s stone in terms of size. This book is great and any Harry Potter fan is definitely urged to read this!

  1. My eyes were drawn to this review, lol. I’m a total Potterhead, but I didn’t like this last one! I feel like it’s kind of a travesty that I don’t, but.. you know what, I won’t even say anything negative out of sheer loyalty 😂 Did you get to see the play, though? I don’t think they’ll be doing that here in the Philippines and I really REALLY want to see it (hoping it’s better there!).

    1. I feel like the play is really good and might make up for what the book is lacking. I think pure Harry Potter lovers don’t like it because so much info is crammed into it and it does feel like a forced sequel. I still enjoyed it because it was still a Harry Potter adventure and in the end just father/son extreme bonding lol

      1. Yeah, and it doesn’t really make a lot of sense. But you know it’s still Harry Potter! I just wish I got to see more of the old characters though. The adventures were rad! I loved those parts and how Malfoy’s son was the “responsible” one this time haha
