[Book Review] Tower of Dawn

Title: Tower of Dawn (Throne of Glass #6)
Author: Sarah J Maas
Pages: 660
Genre: Fantasy, Action & Adventure, Romance
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

I decided to start 2019 off strong and jump back into the Throne of Glass series. This is book 6 of the series so there will definitely be spoilers! You have been warned!

Yes, this is the most least liked book in the entire series. It revolves around Chaol Westfall and Nesryn Faliq who are trying to win over a foreign lord while trying to also fix Chaol’s wounds from two books ago. I honestly loved this book because I do love Chaol (I’m sorry, Rowan is a jerk). I also liked that we were finally introduced to a healer! This group of super charged Fae who like to run head on into the fight need to be healed by a professional.

Oh No’s

This book only centers around Chaol and Nesryn not on the main plot. I understand why this is known as the least liked book in the series. Personally, I have always loved Chaol so a whole book on this man is right up my alley.

The build up on the romance that blooms in this book was very enjoyable. We are introduced to more characters and love interest which can get pretty boring and repetitive after a while. Especially on the sixth installment of a series. But, I just loved these two relationships that we see bloom in their own ways.

Yay’s

Chaol finally gets the love he deserves and in the process discovers so much about himself. He recognizes that Aelin may have been unruly but they need each other moving forward in this war. Just the self discovery reflected in Chaol and Nesryn were identical and they get the love they needed after all this fighting lately.

I loved the mysteries that are unveiled throughout the novel. This book is definitely necessary toward the series but you honestly can afford to skip it if you really dislike Chaol. You will also miss the build up of the mysteries within this foreign palace and the connections it will have to the war.

Finally,

This book was amazing and I regret reading it. Why? Because now I wanna read KINGDOM OF ASH already! Alas, I must wait. I’m only allowed one book purchase every so often. I mean have you guys seen my TBR pile? It refuses to go down.

This book is literally Heir of Fire but instead of Aelin and Rowan it’s Chaol and Nesryn.
