[Unboxing] March Owlcrate

Now presenting: The March Owlcrate box!
Theme
: Murder & Mayhem
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

So, remember how the last month was super amazing? Yeah, I had a feeling it wouldn’t last long. This box was very lackluster and I just didn’t feel like they did anything “new” for this box. The last one was so unique with an umbrella, hat, and graphic novel. This one we will see everything we always see in book boxes. Owlcrate does deliver high quality stuff though.

Owlcrate is a monthly subscriptions box that runs for around $35 a month. Each month is a different theme and comes with a signed hardcover in every box. Don’t get me wrong. Even though this box didn’t seem as unique to me, I know others very much will enjoy this box. You will always get your money’s worth in my opinion, it’s just a matter of what tastes you have. Now, on to the Unboxing!

First we have the two best quality items in the box. Even though they are my least liked of the box. The first is a drawstring canvas bag. Very high quality with an inner zipper pocket. I am actually considering painting this pastel to make it more aesthetically pleasing. Even though I wont be using it. I rarely use drawstring bags.

The next item was a ceramic travel mug. This is actually growing on me even though I don’t drink tea or coffee. It’s high quality and the design on the mug is really pretty. It was done by Catarina Book Designs and is based on Nevernight.

Next up, we have the candle. Based on This Savage Song, I got the Black cherry and Lime candle. Pictured with the other candle I have a previous Owlcrate, this candle will do well on my shelves. Apparently, there were different types of candles.

Which one did you get?

Next up was a sticker…. based on Three Dark Crowns, this tale of three sisters was such a good book that I luckily own and have read. It’s kind of a cheaply made sticker but I do like the art.

The next was a wooden bookmark made by Ink and Wonder Designs. This lovely art feature a quote from Game of Thrones. I actually love this but I was left disappointed because the wood had bent. Now, my rounded bookmark will merely be a prop for my bookshelf.

Finally, we are on to the book of the month. Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte. This signed copy came with an exclusive red cover and uncut pages. It also came with a letter from the author, an art print of the four queens, and a pencil… from the publisher, of course. This was unfortunately ruined for me by some rude person on Instagram. I also could have sworn this book came out a while ago not just in February. I’m really happy I don’t have to buy this book now but confused at the same time.

The final item is the pin of the month. Featuring the four lands found in the book, we have a movable compass laced with gold.

And that’s everything. I felt the uniqueness was lost this month. I’m sure next month we will see better. Speaking of which,

The next box’s theme will be The Dark Side.

And here is the featured photo that I used. My adorable new puppy, Beau!

  1. I love the design on the bag, but I don’t use drawstring bags either. I have so many of them I’ve gotten for free, I should just give them away! I absolutely love the mug too, but I drink coffee and tea.
