Preparing for Bookcon

Hello everyone. I hope your day is going well. I thought I would make a blog post about how much goes into planning out the biggest convention of my year. This is where I amass most of my books to read for the year.

This year I estimate obtaining 100+ books including ones I plan on buying. This number is based on how much I amassed when I went the past two years.

I also was able to snag Bookcon VIP tickets. These puppies sold out in two minutes so holy moly did I dodge a bullet. But I plan on living up every single perk this ticket offers as it cost me a pretty penny.

First up is autographing. As a VIP, we get one additional autograph session that we can reserve as well as preservation.

I spent my day going through artists I know and those I don’t and writing the books I know by them. I highlighted my favorites and narrowed down my options. The next step is to reserve my spots on line for these authors. If you miss out on an author, do not fear! Look into exhibitors to see if they will be signing at anyone’s booth.

Next is the outfit.

I am going as low-key Elsa and my friend is going as Low-key Belle. I needed shoes to pair with the dress so I went to the Converse sale store in Flushing and scored these cheap blue sequined shoes. I feel they really bring the outfit together.

Finally, the tickets. These gorgeous babies came in finally and the next step when receiving them is activating them. It’s good to activate them ahead of time so you don’t have to worry later on.

And that is all I’ve done so far to prepare! I also recommend downloading the Bookcon app to help you plan out your day. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me!
