Title: Running with Lions
Author: Julian Winters
Pages: 299
Genre: Romance, Sports, LGBTQ
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

I purchased this adorable book at Bookcon when I went to get Julian Winter’s new book. This cover popped out to me and I just had to get it. Who knew this would be an amazing sports romance with boys trying to find their balance between Soccer and their love life.

Oh No’s

The sex(tw) and and how these teens weren’t even in a relationship yet. No, this is a big no. Don’t have sex just because it’s “The Last Summer” and you’ve never done it before. There was no concrete relationship and they barely even knew each other then went right into it. Please take your time with this decision and be sure it’s with someone you love or at least like and want to be with. FYI, there is only one sex scene and it’s a fade to black but it still happens.

Yay’s

Winters started off writing fanfictions and I definitely get that feel from this novel. Good thing I’ve been dying to read a good boy and boy romance novel FOR ONCE. I feel like its just straight couples as far as the eye can see. Well, there is but still. It was very refreshing

Um, this cover is literally everything to me. I love the charactrers and seeing them on this cover made it very easy to see them in my head.

Finally,

This is a wonderful feel good story about a group of good natured teens just figuring out how to balance relationships, sports, and their future.

My similar recommendation for this novel would be Check, Please!
