Now presenting: The October Owlcrate box!
Theme: Dawn of the World
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars
Owlcrate is a monthly subscriptions box that runs for around $35 a month. Each month is a different theme and comes with a signed hardcover in every box. You will always get your money’s worth, it’s just a matter of what tastes you have.
Now, on to the Unboxing!
First up, we have the first things I saw in this box. There was a lovely box which held this lovely moon pendant inspired by The Lunar Chronicles. This futuristic moon is an elegant piece that I cant wait to wear.
To the left is a sticker with a quote from Warcross by Marie Lu. This definitely adds to the futuristic vibe of this book but I personally don’t like the look of it.
The next item got me so happy. This is a lovely book tin inspired by the Illuminae series by Amie Koffman & Jay Kristoff (pictured above). This is a metal tin and can hold a world of items inside it and no one will ever know. It also makes a great decoration.
Up next are the magnetic bookmarks from Saga. I have not read this and I dislike the looks of these things blegh. I might either regift these or simply read the graphic novel. Whichever one happens first honestly.
Now on the the Book (Or in this case) the first of two Books of the month. The first is I Hope You Get This Message by I. This is an end-of-the-world novel centered around a group of friends. I’m not sure all of the differences for the cover differences because Owlcrate tried something different with their booklet and made them digital. Which is great and all but they haven’t released them and they have more information in them soooooo yeah. But, obviously, the coloring is more green, I think.
Next in the picture are the Pins of the Month. There are two since there are two books. I felt that there wasn’t anything really special about these pins but I will draw my final opinion once I read the books and see how they relate to them.
Next up is the second Book of the Month and in my opinion the best item. Crier’s War by Nina Varela. This is a story about when robots now have control of the world and humans live underneath them. A robot begins to fall in love with her human companion. This is a girls love novel and I cannot wait to dive in.
One thing I was saddened by was the lack of bookmarks, but I will just use the authors notes instead.
Altogether, you can tell that this Owlcrate was… lacking. I do appreciate when there are two books included, I just wish the side items were a little better.

I want the Illuminae tin so bad 😛 I’ve been stalking their past items shop waiting and hoping it’ll appear since the rest of the box isn’t something I’m as interested in (especially with shipping to Australia) XD
