Rapid Fire Book Tag

As for this tag, it was created by GirlReading and it’s basically just a bunch of random book-related questions which I think I’ve never addressed before on my blog.

Please see below for your entertainment!

E-Book or Physical Book?

I definitely prefer Physical Books! Ebooks are great and so convenient for me but I always get distracted by my phone. I do have a fancy Kindle I use during lunch at work and when I travel though.

Paperback or Hardback?

I love hardbacks! I’ve only ever been able to afford paperbacks though so it’s not until recently that I fully have come to appreciate hardcovers and all that they can offer. Durability, multiple covers, instant weapons, it’s all you ever need.

Online or In-Store Book Shopping?

I prefer in store shopping 100% but I lack any book stores around me so online is my only option currently 😦

Trilogies or Series?

Neither! I prefer Standalones! But if I had to choose, then I guess series?

Heroes or Villains?

There are like five books I’ve ever read where the villain is actually likeable or grows on me. But I can’t remember any of them. I can remember the best movie with the best villain character development: Strange Magic ❤

A book you want everyone to read?

Yes, okay, this is super hard. The Slayers series by C.J. Hill is a great dragon book that just keeps going and getting better. I also suggest Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas but everyone knows that.

Recommend an underrated book?

This one is definitely Someday, Maybe by Elise Faber! A great standalone novel about a girl who finds out her Father no longer wants to be a father, but a woman.

The last book you finished?

Last night I just finished Six of Crows and I just- Full review tomorrow 😉

The Last Book You Bought?

It was a kindle e-book deal for 1.99 for the book Nyxia by Scott Reintgen!

Weirdest Thing You’ve Used as a Bookmark?

Money, toilet paper, my bird’s feather, a cat hair.

Used Books: Yes or No?

YES! 100% all for used books. I’m very into gifting and being gifted books. I appreciate the thought that people put into these. I also love when I receive a book that has been annotated at all or addressed to someone.

Top Three Favorite Genres?

Middle Grade, Young Adult, Fantasy.

Borrow or Buy?

I borrow my mom’s books all the time! We are book dragons (hoarders).

Characters or Plot?

Plot. I’m always here for the story. But I can appreciate characters and their development.

Long or Short Books?

Short but if it’s really good then I want long (think series).

Long or Short Chapters?

Chapter length means nothing to me. I read by page number and how much thickness isd on either side of the page I’m on.

Name The First Three Books You Think Of:

Nevernight

With the Fire on High

Six of Crows

Books That Makes You Laugh or Cry?

I very rarely cry over a book. Manga though, that shit make me bawl. I do laugh at books though.

Our World or Fictional Worlds?

Prefer our world only because I get so tired of learning worlds over and over again.

Audiobooks: Yes or No?

You can thank my dear dad for my intense hatred for audio books. I just cannot listen to someone talking constantly in the most monotone voice. Too many hours I have spent in a catatonic half-awake state with this resounding in my ears. I can’t even listen to podcasts. Sad.

Do You Ever Judge a Book by its Cover?

Absolutely. Covers can tell you a lot about a book. When illustrators are given a book cover they usually specialize in the genre and know what the demographioc is looking for. That’s why all romance and mystery books look the same. YA books pop more because they want to appeal to the younger generation and Middle grade always have the main characters on the cover. *finger gun* pew.

Book to Movie or Book to TV Adaptations?

Book to movie! Although I am enjoying this new wave of TV adaptations none have just drawn me in enough.

A Movie or TV-Show You Preferred to its Book?

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before! I loved the movie’s portrayal a lot more than the book, especially since it bleeds into the second one.

Series or Standalones?

STANDALONES! Oops.

    1. Tbh I had no idea there could be more than one! I’ve even hear one author use different voices! It’s just that audiobooks are something I’ve only listened to during really long car rides which were not so pleasant cause I would be carsick looool I guess just association?

  1. Love your answers but the audiobook one hurt my audiobook loving heart 🙈 There are so many brilliant ones out there! I can highly recommend the Six Stories series (all standalone stories!) which are all full cast, and more like actual acting than just some guy reading the text like he couldn’t care less. Daisy Jones and the Six is excellent too.

      1. That so awesome tho! I’m so happy audiobooks are becoming more popular since my dad was the only one I’ve known to listen to them. He is a huge scifi fan but it takes him ages to read a book but in his 2 hour commune every day he listens!
